Personal Branding

How the Power of “One Word” Can Transform Your Career Path

Less is always more, especially when it comes to creating memorable consumer brands (think Apple and Starbucks).  This same strategy works in your job search.

Rich Keller will demonstrate, through an interactive game using all audience members, how the power of “one word” can help you break through the clutter and stand out in the crowd.

Rich Keller is a marketing executive that is recognized as a passionate, collaborative and motivational change-agent who drives transformational growth by inspiring high-performance global teams to reach their maximum potential.  He is a proven disruptive thinker with a unique skill-set blending emotional brand building, financial acumen and motivational leadership across large, medium and start-up enterprises in the global luxury retail, consumer packaged food and beverage and intimate apparel sectors.

Rich’s career-to-date has been spent leading high-performance global teams for some of the world’s most iconic brands: Godiva, Planters and Chips Ahoy! to name a few.  His business approach hinges on relationship building, utilizing internal and external engagement to create a collaborative process.  He brings people together by creating dialogue to share experiences, connect thoughts, debate ideas, develop solutions and ultimately bridge gaps.  He believes that this philosophy helps companies deepen the emotional connection between brands and consumers to create magic.  At Godiva, Rich was awarded the “Offering Passion” CEO award for demonstrating, on a daily basis, how these values and behaviors can drive success for a global company.

Rich is equally passionate about making an impact on his community.  After overcoming cancer at age 26, he fulfilled his dream of crossing the finish line of the New York City Marathon.   His marathon medal is a daily reminder that one can find the strength from within to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.  In 2014, he launched a 501c3 sports charity called S.C.O.R.E. 4 The Cure.  S.C.O.R.E stands for Support, Cancer, Outreach, Research & Education.  The charity’s mission is “To inspire kid & teen athletes to use their passion for playing sports to conquer cancer, one S.C.O.R.E at a time”.  All proceeds benefit pediatric cancer charities.

Rich has his MBA in Marketing & Strategic Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his Executive Mini-MBA in Digital Marketing from Rutgers University.  He resides in Florham Park, New Jersey with his wife Sharon, an Obstetrician-Gynecologist who is a breast cancer survivor, and his two children, Zachary (17) & Samantha (14).

Gas Money for the Road Less Traveled

Unsure of Your Next Destination?

So was Troy Lewis, author of Gas Money, until circumstances led him down a new path. Troy will take you on a journey showing you how he turned his passion into a business opportunity while inspiring you to do the same. He will share his story and provide techniques that you can use to jump start your next endeavor, whatever that may be!

A book signing will immediately follow the conversation, and books will be available for purchase during the event.

Troy Lewis worked in the pharmaceutical sales and training arena for over 19 years.  Colleagues who enjoyed his life lesson stories encouraged him to share his stories.  One person is quoted as saying, “If you write a story nearly as well as you tell it, then you should write a book!”  His mother had used the same words only the day before.  Heeding their advice, he began writing his first book, Gas Money, which encompasses stories from his small-town childhood experiences in 1960s Virginia to the present.

With limited knowledge of the publishing industry, Troy was grateful that Al Gore had created “The Internet”, and used it to learn how to self-publish his book.  Since its release in July, Gas Money has been featured on C-SPAN’s Book TV, Steve Adubato’s One-On-One television program, and in the Huffington Post.  Troy serves as an inspiration to all with the writing bug.  His motto is:  “All of us have a story to tell, so quit telling it and start writing it!”

Troy received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Nebraska-Omaha while serving in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years.  He has lived in New Jersey since 1996.

The Possibility Mindset

Re-Shape Your Mindset to Redesign Your Life

How do you redesign your career or life when faced with relentless change and challenge, or when you “just know” deep down that you want to reinvent yourself?

In this engaging and interactive presentation, Vic Beaudet explores the power of the Possibility Mindset to help people get on the path of new growth, learning and fulfillment.  Vic shares insights and stories to show how career and life redesign is possible if we’re willing to make changes within ourselves that re-shape how we view our world and choose our actions.

Vic brings together the latest perspectives on mindset to show you how to take charge of change, challenge and transition.  He also offers practical, hands-on tips you can use right away.  You will learn:

  • Why many of us are stuck in a limitation mindset that stops us from taking action
  • How we can create a Possibility Mindset that opens us to new opportunities
  • How our stories, language and questions can help us – or hurt us
  • How to fuel the energy we need to make and sustain changes and transitions

Vic Beaudet is a career, executive and life coach who works with experienced business executives and professionals who are dealing with change, challenge and transition in their work and personal lives.

Vic is formally trained as a coach, having completed the 77-hour Core Essentials curriculum of Coach University, one of the most established coach training programs in the world. Coach University’s training programs are accepted for certification by the International Coach Federation.

Vic is principal of Vic Beaudet Career & Life Coaching LLC and is based in Montclair, New Jersey.  He  partners with clients both in-person and by phone across the U.S.  Vic’s coaching focuses on career growth, executive development,  skill-building, career and life transitions, work/life balance and stress reduction. Clients working with Vic can expect a strong commitment to developing precise goals, powerful beliefs, disciplined habits and aggressive action plans to help them advance more rapidly than they might on their own.

Before transitioning to coaching, Vic built a successful 30+ year business career in corporate communications and public relations on both the corporate side and at prominent communications consulting agencies.

At Avon Products, Inc , Vic rose up the ladder to become Vice President, Corporate Communications, where he led external and internal communications for the Fortune 300 global company. Change and challenge were constant as he counseled CEOs and worked closely with C-suite or other senior executives.

Vic also planned global communications strategy and messaging and led global teams to execute the plans in more than 40 countries. In addition, he created crisis communications response plans, hired professional staff, grew talent and mentored associates to advance their careers.

After Avon, Vic was Managing Director at Marina Maher Communications, where he led an agency task force to implement a revitalized mentoring program serving mid-level and junior staff. He also served consumer clients with senior executive speech writing, communications strategy and counsel, and crisis response.

Vic’s communications career started on the agency side, where he served at the following well-known agencies:  Morgen-Walke Associates (investor and financial relations);  Manning, Selvage & Lee (corporate/financial and B2B communications); and Ketchum (consumer and B2B communications).

Vic’s personal interests include continuing study in coaching and personal development, yoga and meditation, surfing and fitness, and acoustic guitar.

Standing in Your Power

The Path to Getting What You Want

Marjorie Perry will share ways to check to be sure you have not given away your power or ideas through fear. She will demonstrate what it looks like when you stand firmly in getting what you want.

Marjorie Perry, President and CEO of MZM Construction & Management Company, Inc., is an innovator, public speaker, writer and role model for women and minorities in business.  Using her extraordinary path to success and 26 years of business experience as inspiration, Perry motivates emerging entrepreneurs to develop and pursue their dreams.  Her success is the result of taking life's lemons and making lemonade.
Trained as an educator with a B.A. from Kean College, Perry’s teaching path was diverted after being caught in a series of layoffs within the Newark Public School system.  In a fortuitous career move, she decided to try her luck in sales and marketing—a seemingly uncalculated shift. She went on to become highly successful with corporate giants 3M, Johnson & Johnson and United Airlines.  Ultimately, Perry cultivated her burgeoning vision for life as a self-made entrepreneur. Perry then launched a consulting company focused on helping entrepreneurs succeed in the marketplace. Resourceful and open to possibility, it wasn’t long before she partnered with two of her clients and launched MZM Construction & Management.
Soon after, Perry bought her partners out and became the sole principal of MZM.  As president and CEO, she has sustained a multi-million dollar bottom-line for the past 19 years. Perry is now a coveted inspirational speaker and writer, motivating people with the message that, “You too can do it!” She has shared her message about overcoming adversity with hundreds of people via numerous outlets including the NJ Governor's Conference for Women, the much-heralded Sobel & Co. Executive Women Breakfast Series, the Women's Fund of NJ, the National Association of Women Business Owners North Jersey/Central Jersey Chapter, Fox News, MSNBC and New Jersey Network’s television program NJ Caucus.
She has received numerous awards and recognition, including selection as the 2012 New Jersey State Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, recipient of the 2012 Garden State Woman – Woman Business Owner Award, induction into the 2012 New Jersey Business Hall of Fame and induction into New Jersey's premier business publication NJBIZ’s 2011 Business of Hall of Fame Best 50 Women in Business, and one of the Top 25 Entrepreneurs in New Jersey, as well as Own It Ventures Top 25 Women In Business. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie selected Perry to be a member of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.  Perry was also recently chosen to participate in the Small Business Advisory Board program with UBS and The Clinton Foundation.
Perry received her MBA from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and completed Leadership for the 21st Century at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. She continually reinforces her learnings via coursework at Rutgers - the State University of New Jersey, the Stevens Institute of Technology, New York University and NJIT.  For additional information on Marjorie Perry or MZM Construction, please visit www.mzmcc.com or follow Marjorie on Twitter @Marjorie_Perry.O
